École Rock & Roll at Mash Musique
École Rock & Roll is a comprehensive band program for kids 8-17 years old at Mash Musique.
Those accepted will learn to play together as a group over the course of the program by learning/writing and preparing songs for either a live performance, audio recording or music video.
Session Duration: 90 minutes
Course Duration: 7 - 10 weeks on Sundays
Limits and Minimums: 4 or 5 persons per band. Smaller bands are by arrangement only (fees apply).

Sign Up Day
Those who wish to enrol must attend the sign up day to be assessed and get information about how the course will run.
The next sign up day is on Sunday September 3rd between 12-3pm. Due to limitations on parking and interior space, you must contact us to arrange an appointment.
If you cannot attend the sign up day, you must contact Mash Musique to get an independent assessment prior to the sign up day.
Current students are usually exempt from attending sign up day. Contact us to confirm your eligibility.
All those who sign up must be able to play entire songs and know the basics on their instrument. This is a band coaching and production course and the focus of rehearsals is on forming a band and producing a recording/video/live show. Our instructors will not have time during the course to teach you to play your instrument.
Young musicians may come with their own previously formed groups or be placed in a suitable group by Mash Musique. If you want to play with your friends, let us know. We love that!
Please note: We make every effort to place those who sign up for the band program in a suitable band with others of roughly the same age, ability and musical taste. In the event this is not possible in a given term, we will hold your enrolment on file until such time as we can offer you a position.
No fees are due until we have placed you in a suitable band. Upon placement in a band, you will be notified immediately and arrangements will be made to schedule the first rehearsal.
Once enrolled, the attendee agrees to weekly rehearsals at the same time for the duration of the program.
No refunds. Placements are non-transferable.
Attendance
Members must be available to attend at the same time every week for the duration of the course. In the event of sickness, the band coach will step in to cover for the missing band member.
Equipment
Some backline (keyboard, amps, drums, PA, microphones and cables) is provided. Guitarists and bass players should bring their own instruments unless they've previously arranged to borrow one from Mash Musique. Drummers should bring their own sticks and any breakables they wish to use.

Please note: Mash Musique does not offer a band course for teens between April – July due to our long standing affiliation with Be In The Band by Ottawa Bluesfest which runs during this period. Younger players 8-12 may still enroll in our spring program.
Your Band Coach
The bands will be coached by Greg Paul Stone and will feature ,where possible, guest coaches to work with the groups on vocals, stagecraft and production.
